Let me start by apologizing for the delay between ice reports, I wanted to wait to check ice until after the high winds we had the last two days. Today I went out from the clubhouse and headed towards Calumet County Park area then north towards Faro Springs to the clay banks then back west towards Kimberly Point.
In the bay by the clubhouse, I found 8 inches of ice, where i had 5 inches last Thursday. I found anywhere from 8-13 inches of ice today. The common depth of ice was 10 inches. 3 miles out from the clubhouse there is a working crack that runs south/southeast towards Stockbridge then hits another crack that runs east-west from north of Stockbridge I think to roughly Garlic Island area.
The crack at 3 miles originates by Kimberly Point I believe. I will research them more tomorrow. To the north of where our treeline would be, there is a lot of shove ice from what i can tell. Parking for trucks is available on shore at the clubhouse. Please park with a little common sense to allow as many vehicles as possible. And even though Biden will tell you to social distance your vehicles, that is not necessary! Use the front lawn to park if needed, and driveway of our rental property also.
Remember the ice is never 100% safe. 8 minutes ago I endangered ice in my orange big buck cup when it was surrounded by my idol Jack Daniels. Case in point.
Thanks,

Today I went out from the clubhouse and checked ice. In the areas I checked last week that had roughly 2 inches of ice I found 5 inches today. I drilled holes every 50 - 100 feet out to one mile from shore. I found an average of 6", a couple hole with 5" and the most i found was 9" of ice. No major working cracks yet. I suspect that the better part of the lake in the Paynes Point area has about the same ice as i found.
I talked to Don Herman yesterday from Otter Street Fishing Club and he said he found some spots of 3" by shore, and an average of 6" to 8"of ice out to 5 miles from Merritt St. yesterday.
Please do not drive trucks off our landing yet. If your heading out fishing, park at the clubhouse and take an atv or snowmobile out. I would not recommend taking a side by side UTV out yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
Remember the ice is never 100% safe and is extremely un safe in my orange big buck cup.
Thanks,

Happy New Year!
I went and checked ice conditions out from our landing at the clubhouse and found 4.5 inches of ice on average in the northern part of the bay. At 2 tenths of a mile out there is some shove ice where it broke up last. East of that ice I found 2 to 2.5 inches of ice...not what I like to see, but that's mother nature.
I have heard anywhere from 1 - 7 inches of ice on the lake depending where you are. At this time I suggest foot traffic only. I like to see 5 or 6 inches minimum for an ATV. I have been on far less, but don't recommend it and roughly 8 inches for a regular sized UTV.
If you are going out around our landing, there is a hole on the north side of the point at the clubhouse from a car that went off the landing and went in yesterday. The life long Neenah resident apparently decided to stop using what brains he has and drove his car off the landing... hopefully it freezes up soon. Remember the ice never 100% safe, especially in my drink.
Thanks,
